AVIATION Design Centre Sdn. Bhd. (ADC) has the capacity to undertake various aircraft related projects which includes engineering design and analysis of structural components and flight testing correlation programmes. Engineers with relevant experience in ADC have full access to state-of-the-art facilities in line with the present philosophy of embracing Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) technology during the product development process. ADC is equipped with high-end computer workstations and sophisticated software for 2- and 3-Dimensional modelling, Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Design Optimisation.

THE design of aerospace components and assemblies is primarily carried out on computer-based modelling tools such as CATIA ©, SolidWorks © and AutoCAD ©. Analysis and optimisation of the designed products are then undertaken on proven FEA software integrated with size optimisation capability, through either COSMOSWorks © or NASTRAN ©. In order to reduce cost and time during the development process, General Aviation Computer Aided Design © (G.A. CAD) is used for preliminary aircraft design and sizing. Among the design and analysis software used in ADC are:

  • CATIA ©
  • Solidworks ©
  • AutoCAD ©
  • G. A. CAD © - for general aviation airplane design and analysis
  • MSC.PATRAN/MSC.NASTRAN © - Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
  • COSMOS Works © - FEA package with fully integrated optimisation functionality

BELOW are some examples created using the facilities at ADC:

Finite Element Result Plot using COSMOS Works © - FEA of Airborne Fire Fighting System's Remote Control Boom's Swivel Joint.

Finite Element Result Plot using MSC.PATRAN/MASC.NASTRAN © - FEA of Hoist Mounting Frame conceptual design & Airborne Fire Fighting System's Remote Control Boom's Lock Mechanism Trigger Latch.

Solid models created using Solidworks © - Solid models of Airborne Fire Fighting System's Remote Control Boom's Locking Mechanism & Remote Control Boom/Intermediate Mounting Frame Assembly.

Solid models and surface modelling using CATIA © - Solid models and surface modelling of SME MD3-160 Aerotiga components and assemblies.
